Ardyth Irene Malaise

Ardyth “Ardy” Irene Malaise, the daughter of Cedric and Gladys (Claude) Yoder, was born on August 9, 1942, in Webster City. She was raised and educated in Wright County, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1960.

On June 1, 1963, Ardy was united in marriage with Clifford Malaise at the Woolstock Methodist Church. They made their home in Woolstock and were blessed with two children.

Ardy was a member of the Woolstock Methodist Church and the Woolstock Women’s Auxiliary. She worked for Kastler Ditching & Tiling, the US Post Office in Woolstock and was a stay-at-home mom. Ardyth enjoyed time with her family, reading books, cross word puzzles, cards, board games, gardening, canning and bowling – she was a State Champion.

Ardy passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, at the age of 78 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lorraine Sebring and Jeri Abbas and two infant brothers, James and Joseph.

Survivors include her husband Clifford of Woolstock; children: Karen Johnson (Jerry) of Stanwood and Curt Malaise (Erin Clifton) of Bondurant; four grandchildren: Jennifer Miller (John), Nicole Paul (Chris), Garrett Malaise and Nate Malaise; great-grandson, Lucas Paul; sisters, Shirley Salmon (Denny) of New Hartford and Brenda Yoder of Polk City; brother, John Yoder (Nancy) of Grimes and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Family Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in French Church Cemetery, Woolstock. Masks and social distancing are encouraged.
