Dallas Buhr

Dallas Gene Buhr, the son of Werner and Esther (Ball), was born on September 11, 1949, in Eldora, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Goldfield, graduating from Goldfield High School “Class of 1968”.

On June 14, 1975, Dallas was united in marriage with Sheryl Krieger at the French Church in Woolstock. They lived in Goldfield, Eagle Grove, Loveland, CO and returned to Eagle Grove in 1980.

Dallas had nearly a fifty-year career in truck driving -hauling for M&M Feed, Umthun, Decker, Trac, Fred Spangler and was working for Ennis Corporation until his passing. He received the Outstanding Professional Driver Award from the Iowa Motor Association in 2016.

Dallas enjoyed camping, taking his dog Gunner for drives, watching the Hawkeyes – Packers or NASCAR and a good cold beer!!

Dallas passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 71 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister and two brothers, Wilfred and Donald Buhr.

Dallas is survived by his wife, Sheryl Buhr of Eagle Grove; daughter, Christa Willson (Marcus) and their sons, Tyson and Brysen of Eagle Grove; son, Cody Buhr of Eagle Grove; siblings: Weldon Buhr (Beth) of Eagle Grove, DeWayne Buhr (Cheral) of Manning, Allan Buhr (Diana) of Spirit Lake, Bonnie Lester of Searcy, AR, Pamela Lewis (Ernie) of Goldfield and Ivan Buhr of Jackson, MN and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Masks are mandatory and social distancing protocols must be followed. Private family services will be held.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
