Eagle track & field take part in Dodger Relays

Last Tuesday night in Fort Dodge, the Eagle Grove boys team competed to the Dodger Relays. Humboldt took the class B team title with 156 points, followed by: Boone 114, St. Edmond 90, Algona 88, Bishop Garrigan 64 and the Eagles with 50. Waukee won the class A (big schools) title.

“In our field events, Zach placed second (HJ) which was good for him,” stated head coach Ben Demuth. “He has had some tendinitis in his knee that has limited his practice time, and although his height was not what he wanted at least he worked through it and outjumped everyone else. He is trending in the right direction. Dallas and Leo continue to throw well in the discus, with both placing for points, which was good. Leo has come so far in such a short time and it will be interesting to see how much farther he can throw. Dallas does what a seasoned thrower should do, and that is to get better each and every day and he could be a real force at the conference and qualifier meets. Dallas and Peyton were competitive, as there were some real good shot throwers in this meet so it was good for Peyton to see what it takes to throw at that level. Dallas ended up just off of his season-best throw.”
