Eagles have a tough time in four recent games

Last Tuesday at Forest City, the Eagle Grove boys basketball team dropped an 80-29 contest to the Indians. The home team already held a strong 47-20 halftime lead, then proceeded to outscore the Eagles 23 points to three over the third period to put it away.

Chase Mason netted seven points, Austin Purcell six points on a pair of treys and Thomas Matthes five points. Desmond Weber added four points and Jake Darland, Zach Burns and Caden Butler all two points apiece. Tyler Hansen scored one point. Mason and Matthes grabbed three rebounds each, with Darland and Burns getting two apiece. Adam Herrington, Hansen and Eric Hernandez all claimed one carom off the glass. Ben Olson finished with two assists, while Burns, Mason and Matthes dished for one apiece. Hansen made two steals, with Darland, Herrington and Olson adding one each.

“This marks the point in our season when our schedule resets and we start to play teams in our conference a second time,” stated head coach Ryan Pedersen.
