Eighth graders do end-of-year projects

Displays are about who they are and what they want to achieve

It’s no secret that at the end of the school year it can get a little hard for students to focus, especially eighth graders who are excited about transitioning into high school. But this year, the teachers at Robert Blue Middle School found a way to get around this by challenging their students to create an “All About Me” display board and then hosting a showcase for parents, the student body, and the public to come and see.

The idea behind the assignment was to get eighth graders thinking about their life so far, and what they hoped for in the future. As the 56 students set out on their “All About Me” journey, they were given guidelines as to what it had to involve. There were elements they had to have - like a statement/feature of something they believed in; a silhouette project that was decorated with images and words that represent them; and a 25 object art drawing project featuring random objects that capture their attention.
