Ethel Vivian Frakes

Ethel Vivian Frakes, 94, of Eagle Grove, died Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove.

Services are pending with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Ethel Vivian Kubly, the daughter of Jacob and Emma (Kraft) Kubly, was born February 18, 1926, in Wright County, Iowa. She attended country school, and high school at Renwick. In 1942 they moved to a farm by Goldfield where she helped her parents farm. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1946. There she worked for Dr. Martin. She was united in marriage to Charles Frakes of Eagle Grove and they had one son, David. All were members of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Ethel loved being with her family, gardening, quilting, flowers, country music and gospels.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Lester, Leslie and Floyd, and her sister Ardith. She is survived by her son David (Carol) Frakes, Eagle Grove; her grandchildren, Pamela (Troy) Morris, Lawson, Mo., Angela (Robin) Tatum, Clive; five great grandchildren, Anthony, Dylan (Hannah), Bryce, Alyssa and Karter; and a great-great grandchild Cooper; her sister Helen Aukland, Fulda, Minn.; and her special friend Mary Holmberg. Later in life she had three more children come into her life: Skyler, Jordan and Sydney. She had many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
