Janet Kramersmeier

Janet Sue (Elliott) Kramersmeier, the daughter of Lester L. and Helen A. (Wepel) Elliott, was born on December 6, 1943, in Webster City, Iowa. She was raised and educated in seven different schools, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1962.

Janet married Don Garrett in 1962 and from that marriage three children were born, they later divorced. On July 1, 1976, Janet married Delmar Kramersmeier.

She worked with Del at Kramersmeier’s Drug Store as a Pharmacy Tech, they both retired and sold the business in 1990 and moved to Prescott, AZ. Their retirement kept them both busy, but they were able to attend Yavapai Community College – Janet learning and becoming an expert weaver (making beautiful baskets and rugs) and Del learned to turn wood. They returned to Eagle Grove in 1999.

Janet was a very active volunteer in her community, including serving as a Rotarian and on the Rotary Auxiliary and also at the United Methodist Church – serving as past president of UMW, dial-a-devotion and participating in numerous bible studies. Janet also enjoyed reading, journaling, scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, watching movies and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren – always finding new activities to do with them.

Janet passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the age of 76 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lester Elliott.

Survivors include her husband, Del of Eagle Grove; children: Kris Zeller (Joel) of Mt. Pleasant, WI, Sandra McGrath (John) of Eagle Grove, Sheila Cochran (Darryl) of Camanche, Kristi Kramersmeier of Syracuse, NY and Julie Kramersmeier of Eagle Grove; 12 grandchildren: Jestin Willwerth (Jodi), Andrea McGrath (Jon), Billy Quintus (Allix), Lashelle Quintus-Burger (Cory), Garrett Quintus (Mel), Michael Cochran, Mollie McGrath, Brooke Carrington Kevin), Ariel Quintus-Hansen (Brett), Logan Cochran, Macy Zeller and Jonah Kramersmeier; 14 great-grandchildren: Ashlynn Willwerth, Jersey Willwerth, Analise Olson, Nora Olson, Bella Quintus, Kaden Pritchard, Bucky Quintus, Layne Burger, Owen Quintus, Eve Quintus, Layton Heuser, Haedyn Heuser, Drake Huffaker and Landon Huffaker and sisters: Esther Ramsey, Patsy Ahnen, Judy Billingsley and Ginger Thompson.

Visitation was Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove – Masks are mandatory and Social Distancing Protocol must be followed. are greatly encouraged. Private family services were on Tuesday at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
