Jayne Schipull

Jayne Luella (Axon) Schipull, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Nelson) Axon, was born on November 29, 1957, in Clarion, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Goldfield, graduating from Goldfield High School, “Class of 1976”. Jayne participated in many activities during her school years including: basketball, softball, track, band and was in many school plays. She also participated in Junior Evergreen Association, Flora-ette Garden Club, 4-H and in many of the River Park Horse Shows – she loved her horses. Jayne then attended NIACC for her LPN and began her nursing career at Mary Greeley in Ames.

On September 1, 1979, Jayne was united in marriage with Dean Schipull in Goldfield, where they made their home and raised two daughters, Stacy and Cassie. Jayne had a love for dachshunds, asparagus hunting, and being out with her flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Jayne continued her nursing career, working at the Clarion Care Center from 1979 to 2014 and for Wright County Public Health from 2014 – 2019. She was also a substitute associate at the Clarion-Goldfield Elementary School and would help answer phones at Oldson Plumbing and Heating.

Church and Faith were major parts of Jayne’s life - she was an active member of the Goldfield Presbyterian Church – serving as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, helping in the Bible School kitchen, served 2 – 6 year terms on Church Sessions and in Friendship Circle. Jayne was also a member of Bayview, Goldfield Women’s Club and American Legion Auxiliary.

Jayne passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 62 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Axon; father and mother-in-law, Don and Kristine Schipull and brothers-in-law, Dave Schipull and James Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Schipull of Goldfield; daughters, Stacy Snow (Jason) of Grimes and Cassie Schipull (Jake Anderson) of Des Moines; grandchildren, Cecilia, Emmaline and Ellery Snow; father, Kenneth Axon of Goldfield; sisters, Sonna Johnson of Goldfield, Suzanne Skadburg (Don) of Clive and Julie Burzacott (Jon) of Tiffin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
