Joanne Pohlman, 84, of Webster City, Iowa died Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Van Diest Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held Spring 2022. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.

Joanne Mildred Hinrichsen, daughter of Ernest and Eleanor (Larson) Hinrichsen, was born May 11, 1937 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1955. She attended Iowa Central Community College and University of Northern Iowa after high school. Joanne was united in marriage to Roland Joseph Pohlman in Eagle Grove on August 3, 1956. To this union, three children were born. Joanne’s favorite job was being a mother. She also worked for Y.O.U.R. Inc, and J.T.P.A - ICCC, and as private secretary to the president of U.N.I.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rollie of Webster City; son, Rik Joseph (Andrea) Pohlman of Minneapolis, MN; daughters, Paige Allison Pohlman Peterson of Sioux Falls, SD, Patrice Ann Pohlman LaSourd (Charles Heller) of Webster City; grandchildren, Reed and Peri Peterson, Ann Marie, Lincoln, and Riley LaSourd; brothers, Willert (Nancy) Hinrichsen, Dale (Jan) Hinrichsen; sister, Ruth (Allan) Brock Saxe; brother-in-law, Roger (Ellen) Pohlman; sister-in-law, Jeanine Reichter and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Presli Roxanne Peterson; brother, Eugene Wayne Hinrichsen, and sister, Beverly Arloine Hanson.

Joanne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a 28-year cancer survivor, loved to travel and had been to all 50 states and 26 countries. She had an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile, and was a legendary cook. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
