Joyce Ann (Klingsheim) Wearmouth

Joyce Ann (Klingsheim) Wearmouth was born on March 8, 1947, in Austin, Minnesota to Theodore and Gladys (Odland) Klingsheim.  After the death of her parents when she was five years old, Joyce was raised by her aunt and uncle, Alvin and Hazel Halgrim in Eagle Grove.  She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1965.  Joyce then attended Eagle Grove Junior College and Wartburg – get her teaching degree and later completed her Master’s in teaching.

  

      Joyce taught at Mease Elementary in Dakota City her entire teaching career – 30 plus years.

 

      On August 25, 1999, Joyce was united in marriage with Frank Wearmouth at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt.  They made their home in Humboldt, Badger and moved to Eagle Grove in 2007.  

 

       Joyce was a member of Badger Lutheran Church and Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.   She was also a member of Kappa Delta Pi.   Joyce loved flowers and gardening.  She also enjoyed quilting and taking care of others.

 

       Joyce passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the age of 74 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Harold, Ethel, Betty, Clara, Marie and Linda; siblings by choice, Orrin Halgrim and Evelyn Wergeland and husband, Frank in March of 2021

     Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Carlson; grandchildren: Amber, Ashton and Addison; special friend, Arlene Opheim; sibling by choice, Virgil Halgrim (Jan) and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

  

       Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, Pastor Paul Stone officiating with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

 

      Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
