Joyce Deimerly

Joyce Louise Deimerly was born on June 27, 1948, in Webster City, Iowa, to James and Mabel (Hanson) Deimerly. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove.

Joyce worked at the Clarion Care Center as a cook, for her father at the Smoke Shop in Eagle Grove, she owned and operated Woody’s Bar in Goldfield, helped handicapped individuals at Progressive Industries in Altoona, managed the jewelry department for Walmart and at a garden center (during the 10 years she lived in Arizona) and she also worked for the Jewell schools as a cook. In 2014, Joyce returned to Goldfield.

Joyce was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, collecting Precious Moments, scrapbooking and making cards.

Joyce passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 72 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Deimerly and son, Shane Christenson.

Joyce is survived by her children: Ann Fankhauser (Joe) of Ankeny, Anita Harle (Ken) of Goldfield and Joey Timmerman (Katie) of Pleasant Hill; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane Solis (Geno) of Eagle Grove and Jan Eamer (Larry) of Des Moines; brother, Jimmy Deimerly (Jill) of Jewell and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation – open to the public - will be held at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove on Thursday, January 21, 2021, from 12:00-1:30 p.m. The services are for family only. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
