Nick Halverson is leading hitter in final Eagle baseball stats

The final season stats for the Eagle baseball team show a 9-20 overall record, with a 6-11 Top of Iowa final record. Newman Catholic won the league title at 17-0, followed in the top three by Forest City at 15-2 and Garner-Hayfield/Ventura at 14-3. The Eagles had six players chosen for All-Conference recognition. Niko Padilla was a 1st Team choice, while Ryan Smith and Nick Halverson were given a nod to the 2nd Team. John Mosley and Saxon Lyman were named to the 3rd Team, with Spencer Espejo making the Honorable Mention list.

As a team, the 2018 Eagles had 736 total at-bats to produce 142 runs on 191 total hits. There were 40 doubles, six triples and four homeruns. A total of 119 RBI were produced. There were 12 sac fly’s, 86 walks taken and 44 stolen bases in 55 steal attempts. The team had a collective batting average of .260, with a .346 collective slugging percentage.

Nick Halverson had 35 hits in 95 at-bats for a .368 average. Niko Padilla had 26 hits in 80 at-bats for a .325 average. John Mosley had 24 hits in 85 at-bats for a .282 average. Ryan Smith had 23 hits in 78 at-bats for a .295 average. Spencer Espejo had 19 hits in 71 at-bats for a .268 average.
