Public invited to welcome area Veterans on 17th Honor Flight

This Saturday, Sept. 15, the Brushy Creek Honor Flight will take off on their 17th trip to Washington, D.C., carrying area Veterans to see monuments, memorials, and share memories.

The committee is hoping you - the public - will join them in celebrating their service during the send-off (flight leaves the Fort Dodge Regional Airport at 6:45 a.m.) and/or welcoming them home at the same airport at approximately 10:45 p.m. Bring your flags, your cameras, and your gratitude, making this experience even more special for our heroes who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms.

Prior to their trip, an informational banquet was held at the Webster County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, Sept. 5 for Veterans taking the flight and their family members. In addition to a wonderful meal and a chance to meet other Veterans taking the trip, everyone also enjoyed a delicious meal.
