Railroad right-of-way creates potential conflict at Lake Cornelia

At Monday’s county supervisors meeting, one of the issues discussed brought the leaders of three different departments— Denise Baker, county recorder; Adam Clemons, county engineer; and Sandy McGrath, planning and zoning director—together to seek a course of action.

The situation, they said, was that a landowner on the east side of Lake Cornelia wanted to build a new house. To do that, power lines would need to be moved. However, the power company is not willing to do so because of proximity to Union Pacific Railroad right-ofway.
