Schaumburg improves Fishpond Park

Eagle Grove just keeps getting better and better...and that’s due largely in part to the people who call our community “home.”

Fishpond Park sits in the northeast corner of our town. It’s a serene park that’s like any other in our community. It’s main focus is a small body of water that has provided hours of entertainment for generations. Many of families and independent children from all over town have spent afternoons there casting out their lines in hopes of making the catch of the day.

One of those families was that of Myrtle Schaumburg’s. With seven children, it was a great amenity they took advantage of over the years.

“All my children have been out to that pond,” she said. “My son, Merlin, was really a great fisherman.”
