Supervisors hear Wright County Fair annual report, funding request

Wright County District Junior Fair manager Tricia Rosendahl, accompanied by several board members, presented the annual report and funding request to the Wright County Supervisors at their final meeting of the year on December 26.

Their capital campaign was another huge success, and even better is that the mortgage is completely paid in full. The Fair Board continues to be thrilled with the support shown to the Sponsorship Program, which just finished its 14th year with just over $67,000 coming in for a grand total of over $652,000 in that time. The Fair Foundation, through the Endow Iowa program and the Wright County Charitable Foundation, continues to grow with just over $19,000 to provide for the future needs of the fair.

Two 4-H clubs came up with projects this year to improve the grounds and buildings. Wright County P.I.G. received a Monsanto grant to do a new photo backdrop at the show arena, while two members of the Lake Clovers Club designed, planned and organized construction of the new GaGa Ball pit.

“Kara Legleiter and Mackenna Hasty not only created the game, they fundraised the entire amount for the project,” said Rosendahl. “It was used a lot, and we are so proud of all of these 4-H’ers.”
